Three of our programs are delivered in collaboration with SNHD and its Office of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, bringing preventive health education and screenings directly to the Southern Nevada community.

Barbershop Health Outreach Summer Without Soda Move Your Way

Barbershop Health Outreach

A preventive health program that brings free blood pressure and prediabetes screenings directly to trusted community barbershops.

In partnership with the Southern Nevada Health District, Promotoras Las Vegas brings preventive health screenings directly to the community at Mr. G’s Classic Barber Shop, meeting people where they already are. Barbershops are trusted, familiar gathering places, making them ideal venues to reach men and families who may not otherwise visit a clinic.

Summer Without Soda

A preventive health initiative that educates the community about reducing sugary drinks and choosing healthier hydration options.

Created by the Southern Nevada Health District’s Office of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. It educates the community about reducing sugary beverage consumption and encourages healthier hydration habits. Our promotoras lead workshops, water-first challenges, and family events throughout the summer.

A physical activity program that helps the community move more and reduce chronic disease risk.

A preventive health program promoting physical activity, movement, and healthy lifestyles to reduce chronic disease risk and improve overall wellness. Our promotoras host walks, fitness sessions, and family-friendly activity events across Southern Nevada, making it easier for everyone, at any age or ability, to find ways to move that fit their life.

Faithful Families

A nutrition and wellness program that helps families build healthy habits together in trusted faith communities.

A community nutrition and wellness program that weaves health education into trusted faith settings. By partnering with local congregations, our promotoras deliver cooking classes, scripture-based wellness lessons, and group physical activity, supporting families in making healthy choices together within a community they already trust.

Community education, navigation, and referrals for postpartum support, helping moms connect with care after birth.

In partnership with Hope Christian Health Center, PLV offers community education, navigation, and referrals for postpartum support. We help moms connect with the care and resources they need after birth, including recovery follow-up, mental health, and connection to primary care.

Mujeres Fuertes Project

Free gynecological services through a mobile clinic, helping women access preventive healthcare.

In collaboration with Hope Christian Health Center and UnitedHealthcare Health Plan of Nevada Medicaid, PLV provides free gynecological services through a mobile clinic at a variety of community locations. Women can receive reproductive health education and preventive services, reducing health disparities in our community.
